“I love the Gags and it is my dream to come work with you. How can I join the Just For Laughs Gags team and plan pranks on people with you guys?”
This question we get almost every day from our fans, through emails and comments on our videos. We haven’t been answering exactly what needs to be doen to join the gags but we’ve been promising those who ask a detailed guide as to what you need to do to apply for a job at the Gags.
As promised, here is the definitive guide on how to join the Just for Laughs Gags crew.
- Currently, the Gags prank videos are exclusively being filmed in the city of Montreal in Canada. This means that all staff and actors live in and around the city. Basically we you need to live in Montreal to be part of the Gags.
- All new Gags actors need to be bilingual, this means that you need to speak both English and French fluently.
- If you send a submission, please include a full body picture and close up shot of you as well as your measurements.
- Ordinarily, each year casting for the Gags is done in the pre-season during the months of March & April
- We are currently looking for certain individual that fill specific roles. Right now we are looking for older actors to play old people roles as well & visible ethnicities.
- All JLFGags actors are part of the UDA (French only website) which is the Quebec Actors Union.
- Finally and importantly, the Gags do not hire famous or known actors because of the nature of the show being hidden camera and having our actors recognized is a deterrent to our pranks.
